Quickly cleaning up your house for a showing can be really difficult especially if you live in the house. Add to that the urgent cleaning that might need to be done on short notice from your agent and it can become a nightmare.
There is no need to worry as there are ways to still get your place sorted for a showing. Follow these quick ways of cleaning up before a house visit.
Place a Mat Inside and Outside the Door
Let us be fair, it is not always possible to ban shoes in the house. While a request such as that makes life simpler for you, it could put off certain buyers. Instead, consider placing a mat that is ideally big enough for both shoes. A mat will catch any dirt that is likely to enter the house and ruin your cleaning efforts.
Keep the Entryway Spin and Span
The exterior is just as important to clean up as the interior of the house. The lesser dirt and debris in the pathway, the lesser the likelihood of it being dragged across your front door. You may lay down bricks or add steppingstones to make sure the entryway remains clean. This should also prevent guests from tripping over and hurting themselves.
Keep Brooms and Dustpans Handy
It is a good idea to invest in some brooms and dustpans and hide them some place in the house. Any time you see a spot that requires sweeping or cobwebs that must be removed you can always reach out for your trusty tools and sort them out. You may keep putting off the cleaning until later and eventually forget it if you do not have the tools handy.
