Are you selling a house? This means you are all set to invite people to your house for a viewing and can’t wait to open the doors. Well, hold your horses.
Before you proceed, you need to be sure that everything is in order. You do not want to make a bad impression when prospective buyers come by to check out a property. They could potentially be paying top dollar for the house and they want to see the best.
Here are five things you must do before a viewing for selling a house.
Decluttering
Prospective buyers expect you to have your belongings in your house. In fact, the furniture in your property can help visitors get a sense of the available room and plan accordingly. Though, it does not mean that you leave all your belongings in a disorderly state. Remove anything that is dusty or broken and make sure the surface space is clear for the visitors to see.
Repainting
People start to ignore the little changes to the outlook of their house when they have spent years in the property. However, when it is time to sell your house it is imperative that you look at it with a fresh pair of eyes. Put yourself in the shoes of a buyer and think what they would make of the condition of the house. A fresh coat of paint will do wonders to the state of your house.
Window cleaning
A quick way of giving prospective buyers the impression that the house is well cared for is to keep the windows squeaky clean. It is also a good way of ensuring that the house gets ample amount of natural light when visitors drop by such that everything in the property is clearly visible. It is advisable to clean all the windows but if there may be some you can’t clean from the outside, consider hiring a professional to do it for you.
Hiring a professional
Finally, if all else fails you can safely hire a professional cleaner to deal with the cleaning responsibilities. This is especially helpful if you have a tough time scrubbing everything on your own and need the job done urgently. There is a good trade off here in that you will be spending a good amount of cash for the service but it will surely save you the effort and considerable amount of time.
