As a seller, you may think you need not have a checklist when you are looking to sell your property. However, it is more convenient to check a list of tasks off the list when you have a limited amount of time before you move out of your old home. Remembering things off the top of your head is not a viable solution in this scenario. Here is a closing checklist for sellers of property that you can use before you finally complete the sale.
Announcing your move
Your closing checklist should include people and businesses you must notify of your move. The selling process itself is already stressful and you would not want the added stress from bills and documents not reaching your new address. As soon as you are certain that the sale would be successful, be sure to inform everyone
Deep cleaning
Buyers appreciate a nice and clean property. As a token of appreciation, you could hire a cleaning service to give the house a good cleaning before new residents move in. This way buyers would not have to worry about cleaning up the place right after moving in. Many purchase agreements include a mention of “broom clean” condition but there is no reason why sellers should not make a more concerted effort.
Closing documents
All your important documents need to be in a place where they are safe and easily accessible. The purchase contract, seller disclosures
